GOT TROUBLES?
by Maxine M.

We read of tragedies in the paper, see them on tv every day
We're shocked and saddened, but soon just go on our way
We may send a comforting message, really not knowing what to say

But then!! As is inevitable, a crisis strikes us or our loved one
In panic we ask "why"? Who can help? What can be done?
Now there's no putting it out of mind, there's no place to run

When YOU get the call in the middle of the night
When YOUR doctor says "I'm sorry, this report shows something is not right"
When YOUR job is lost, it was Your house that burned...what a fright

Then trouble becomes personal, there's no room for apathy
Our desire is..Of this pain, sorrow, grief... to be set free!
But, knowing WHERE to turn, that's the vital key

Counselors, doctors, and medicine can only help to a certain degree
Support from friends & family is wonderful we all agree
But when all is "said and done"; Dear Lord, it's just You and me

You, Lord, in Whose image all people were created
Thus the source of all life, a fact many have foolishly debated
But our own ability to handle "stress" is highly over-rated

We ponder"why" do the things happen? Perhaps a result of wrong choices...wrong desires
Or do they come to strengthen us, lift us higher
Like steel, refined and purified by fire

Yes, it's just You and I, Lord, no one else can intervene
When I'm in a bed of pain, where else can I securely lean?
Faith must take over, for I don't understand what all this should mean

In the valley of the shadow of death, how will I respond?
Loved ones can offer encouragement, but they haven't a magic wand
Only You, Lord, can bring true hope of what lies beyond

It is You, Lord, Who will be my strength in this dark hour
Your name is a strong, protecting tower
Your Words bring lasting comfort; doubt and fear devour

We know, Lord, You're in charge of every situation that may arise
You, Who always hears a SINCERE prayer or our repentant cries
You, Who will one day answer tearful "whys"

Now you may say "Life is good. Everything is just fine, right now"
BE ASSURED, trouble will certainly find us all, somehow
And no one knows how much time on Earth God will allow

Now is the time to have your Lifeline in place
Ask the Lord to rescue you, by His saving Grace
Then we can cling to the promise of one day seeing Him... face to Face

Judy,
This would be so GOOD, on Joel's Blog right now! What with Dalton, and all his 'bringing strife,' to Joel's Blog.

How is your daughter doing? And how are you doing, also my sister, in Jesus?

I love you, and God bless you, and yours!

Judy,
Thanks! It fit right into Joel's blog, like a custom glove!

Love you, and God's best to you, and your family, too :)
Judy,

I took the time to scroll down thru the latest Joel's post tonight, and there it was.

I am so glad that you put it out there for all to see. I love your Mom for sharing her God-given verses with us.

I haven't seen any news on Amanda, but I am hoping that she is feeling that she is safe in the arms of Jesus. I'm praying that she will have perfect peace. And, I hope she knows that her brothers and sisters across this old world are praying for her healing also, besides her loving earthly family.

I think that Jesus is tickled pick to see your Mom's work being seen all across the world. What a wonderful witness of Him and her love for Him.

I love you.
Judy,

I just read your comments on Marge's post about not sitting at "Child's Seat."

I agree with you. To Him we should all turn first. And He wants you to turn to Him first also.

He also told us to share each other's burdens and to pray one for the other.

I love you sweet one. Rest in Him!

Mother's Day by: Maxine M. (this is cute) Our first parents lived in a paradise of ease Their original days were without toil, doing as they pleased Enjoying God's garden of bountiful, fruitful trees There was nothing to fear, as all the animals were tame As they came one by one for Adam to name The perfect marriage, there was no one else to blame The ideal life, but one thing they both never knew Was the loving touch of a Mother, as not from childhood they grew Of that special bond from child to Mother, they had no clue A Mother hadn't warned, "Don't talk to that snake" "He's not what he seems, he's a phony and a fake" "If you listen to him, it will bring sorrow and heartache" So Eve raised her children without Mother's advice Labor pains and discomfort were disobedience's price A Mother certainly would have made her think twice When the question "why do it this way?" came around She couldn't reply, "It...
WHAT DID JESUS SEE? by Maxine M. The world saw Peter as an unlearned fisherman, nothing special at all Simply mending his nets, hoping today would yield a big haul BUT what did Jesus see? He saw the one whom He'd call "The Rock" The one to found His Church, the leader of His flock The world saw Levi as a dreaded tax collector Lowest of the low, a traitor, considered a Roman defector BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Matthew with a loyal heart, faithful and true Knew he would be useful in the ministry he was to do The world saw the Pharisees as superior, righteous, ceremoniously clean Loving to stand in public, praying just to be seen BUT what did Jesus see? He saw them as hypocrites, fools, blind guides Saw them as well-polished tombs, but inside rottenness hides The world saw Saul as an enthusiastic, young Pharisee filled with zeal Persecuting new Christians, their newly found joy to steal BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Paul, a specially chosen vessel, a sinne...
Childlike Faith By: Maxine M. A short time ago, a long-time politician was laid to rest The last of the patriotic brothers…in America, their lives they’d invest People lined the streets expressing grief, paying tribute & honor with considerable zest A crowd gathered on the Capital’s steps engrossed in this somber affair But did you notice the small children quietly playing without a care? Just having fun, making faces at each other while parents were unaware Wiggling & anxious to be on with life…shed those “good” clothes that must stay clean Unconcerned what “Teddy’s” passing would bring to the political scene Confident & trusting their parents would keep life safe & serene For children are children in spite of color, nationality or religious creed Where prejudice hasn’t been formed, childlike acceptance will intercede They’re refreshingly innocent…not yet carrying our burden of ‘will I succeed’ T...
