Blest Are The Care Givers
By: Maxine M.

We all are assigned tasks in life…to go through life without a “cross” is rare
The troubles, trials & burdens of others we’re encouraged to share
But it’s a very heavy load “Care Givers” are given to bear

To have another depend on YOU for all THEIR needs every day
Drains mortal strength…reminds us we’re only made of clay
We love the one we care for, but still tomorrow seems dreary and gray

It involves long stressful days and even sleepless, interrupted nights
When minds fill with self-doubt… “Am I equal to this task? Am I doing everything right?”
Why, for ACCEPTANCE of this situation, must I daily fight?

What does the near and long term future hold in store?
Will I somehow be required to give even more?
Or will life just go in circles…like trying to row with only one oar

Friends & family all do what they can to keep life on an upbeat note
Please accept their offers of love & help as a life jacket…not a martyr’s coat
But true EMPATHY can only come from those in that same boat

Personal needs and desires often must just be put aside
They see a sunny disposition…simply assume we’re taking all in stride
They never see the frustration and all those tears you’ve cried

Loneliness and isolation may occur when other’s necessities always come first
BUT it isn’t easy being the NEEDY RECIPIENT either…Oh, Lord!! Don’t let this emotional bubble burst!
Let my words be genuine & sincere, not phony & rehearsed

For they need our love and support…so together we’ll face what today may bring
There are many days it’s only to our FAITH we can cling
Knowing the Lord’s Grace is sufficient in everything

Because the secret to PERSERVERANCE is to trust the ONE who assigned the task
The ONE to whom we can pour out those feelings we otherwise try to mask
The ONE who will give us strength & courage…MORE than we even ask

For He promised!! “I’ll never leave you”…I’m right here by your side
Draw strength from ME and in My presence daily abide
Study My word…let it be your constant companion & guide

When you are faithful in this difficult task, it’s My Image you portray
And I always hear those prayers for relief that you pray
But for NOW, My plan is for you to follow this pathway

Remember!! All these trials are producing in you your very BEST
And those who are MINE, will one day enter My Eternal Rest
Reward will be given & enjoyed, but “Care Givers” will be especially blest

Mother's Day by: Maxine M. (this is cute) Our first parents lived in a paradise of ease Their original days were without toil, doing as they pleased Enjoying God's garden of bountiful, fruitful trees There was nothing to fear, as all the animals were tame As they came one by one for Adam to name The perfect marriage, there was no one else to blame The ideal life, but one thing they both never knew Was the loving touch of a Mother, as not from childhood they grew Of that special bond from child to Mother, they had no clue A Mother hadn't warned, "Don't talk to that snake" "He's not what he seems, he's a phony and a fake" "If you listen to him, it will bring sorrow and heartache" So Eve raised her children without Mother's advice Labor pains and discomfort were disobedience's price A Mother certainly would have made her think twice When the question "why do it this way?" came around She couldn't reply, "It...
WHAT DID JESUS SEE? by Maxine M. The world saw Peter as an unlearned fisherman, nothing special at all Simply mending his nets, hoping today would yield a big haul BUT what did Jesus see? He saw the one whom He'd call "The Rock" The one to found His Church, the leader of His flock The world saw Levi as a dreaded tax collector Lowest of the low, a traitor, considered a Roman defector BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Matthew with a loyal heart, faithful and true Knew he would be useful in the ministry he was to do The world saw the Pharisees as superior, righteous, ceremoniously clean Loving to stand in public, praying just to be seen BUT what did Jesus see? He saw them as hypocrites, fools, blind guides Saw them as well-polished tombs, but inside rottenness hides The world saw Saul as an enthusiastic, young Pharisee filled with zeal Persecuting new Christians, their newly found joy to steal BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Paul, a specially chosen vessel, a sinne...
Childlike Faith By: Maxine M. A short time ago, a long-time politician was laid to rest The last of the patriotic brothers…in America, their lives they’d invest People lined the streets expressing grief, paying tribute & honor with considerable zest A crowd gathered on the Capital’s steps engrossed in this somber affair But did you notice the small children quietly playing without a care? Just having fun, making faces at each other while parents were unaware Wiggling & anxious to be on with life…shed those “good” clothes that must stay clean Unconcerned what “Teddy’s” passing would bring to the political scene Confident & trusting their parents would keep life safe & serene For children are children in spite of color, nationality or religious creed Where prejudice hasn’t been formed, childlike acceptance will intercede They’re refreshingly innocent…not yet carrying our burden of ‘will I succeed’ T...
