A Moment in Time
By: Maxine M.

We often forget how in a moment in time our life can change
Situations & events we never stopped to consider can suddenly rearrange
They happen to OTHERS…but aren’t WE IMMUNE to circumstances so strange?!

But in a moment in time we find change…it CAN come to us ALL
That life altering moment we didn’t see coming…perhaps by a traffic accident or unexpected fall
A new unplanned direction is now a REALITY…a modified lifestyle we must install

Are we prepared for those life changing moments that will certainly come our way?
Whether they are JOYFUL moments we can embrace on any given day
Like the birth of a baby…a PERMANENT change in lifestyle will convey

A once in a lifetime financial opportunity or new friendship to lighten life’s heavy load
A celebration of a life milestone achieved or a full payment of a debt owed
OR those DEVASTATING moments when life takes a sharp bend in the road

Times when our daily routine is turned upside down & there’s no understanding the WHYS
A marriage broken by outright betrayal and lies
A pink slip in a paycheck…fear now is realized

In a moment in time a frail heart can stop beating…bringing loved ones despair
A child’s innocence stolen, those impulsive sins one normally wouldn’t dare
All those circumstances when we’re powerless to simply go back and repair

Hurtful words spoken, stability is gone, life never to be the same
Everyday we can see nature’s fury strike with all the unpredictability it can contain
Detours in our CHARTED course with really no one to blame

A government decision…trillions in debt IS NOT the American dream
A disabling injury that will now affect the entire team
Devil inspired plots & schemes that rob us of our peace coming in on endless stream

That shocking scandal exposed about someone we thought honorable to the core
Dark secrets brought to light change opinions like never before
Relationships can change in a moment in time…like the closing of a door

Are we sure HOW we will handle all the UNEXPECTED life can bestow?
In the face of that UNASKED for trouble, heartache and woe
Do we possess a strength & courage that before we haven’t had to show?

But now, at some moment in time, every soul has a CONSCIOUS DECISION to make
A decision as to which of two eternal paths to take
And it must be a GENUINE choice because God Almighty can spot a fake

Because the SINGLE BIGGEST moment in which life can take a drastic turn
Is when you ACCEPT or REJECT Jesus…rejection leads to Hell’s fires that burn
Accepting assures a future that cannot be lost…a gift you can never earn

And SOON there’ll be a moment in time when a trumpet will sound
In a twinkling of an eye, those who HAVE accepted, no where on earth will be found
For an eternity of wonderful moments in time His redeemed will be bound

So live in expectation of what each new day may bring
Remember His words “I’ll never leave you”…to this promise daily cling
Knowing that in the final outcome, we will rejoice in Christ our King!

Mother's Day by: Maxine M. (this is cute) Our first parents lived in a paradise of ease Their original days were without toil, doing as they pleased Enjoying God's garden of bountiful, fruitful trees There was nothing to fear, as all the animals were tame As they came one by one for Adam to name The perfect marriage, there was no one else to blame The ideal life, but one thing they both never knew Was the loving touch of a Mother, as not from childhood they grew Of that special bond from child to Mother, they had no clue A Mother hadn't warned, "Don't talk to that snake" "He's not what he seems, he's a phony and a fake" "If you listen to him, it will bring sorrow and heartache" So Eve raised her children without Mother's advice Labor pains and discomfort were disobedience's price A Mother certainly would have made her think twice When the question "why do it this way?" came around She couldn't reply, "It...
WHAT DID JESUS SEE? by Maxine M. The world saw Peter as an unlearned fisherman, nothing special at all Simply mending his nets, hoping today would yield a big haul BUT what did Jesus see? He saw the one whom He'd call "The Rock" The one to found His Church, the leader of His flock The world saw Levi as a dreaded tax collector Lowest of the low, a traitor, considered a Roman defector BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Matthew with a loyal heart, faithful and true Knew he would be useful in the ministry he was to do The world saw the Pharisees as superior, righteous, ceremoniously clean Loving to stand in public, praying just to be seen BUT what did Jesus see? He saw them as hypocrites, fools, blind guides Saw them as well-polished tombs, but inside rottenness hides The world saw Saul as an enthusiastic, young Pharisee filled with zeal Persecuting new Christians, their newly found joy to steal BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Paul, a specially chosen vessel, a sinne...
Childlike Faith By: Maxine M. A short time ago, a long-time politician was laid to rest The last of the patriotic brothers…in America, their lives they’d invest People lined the streets expressing grief, paying tribute & honor with considerable zest A crowd gathered on the Capital’s steps engrossed in this somber affair But did you notice the small children quietly playing without a care? Just having fun, making faces at each other while parents were unaware Wiggling & anxious to be on with life…shed those “good” clothes that must stay clean Unconcerned what “Teddy’s” passing would bring to the political scene Confident & trusting their parents would keep life safe & serene For children are children in spite of color, nationality or religious creed Where prejudice hasn’t been formed, childlike acceptance will intercede They’re refreshingly innocent…not yet carrying our burden of ‘will I succeed’ T...
