Trust The Promises

by: Maxine M

Man for centuries have studied the Bible to learn how this age will end
Pondered prophecies and the mysterious message they send
Written their own books, part fact & part fiction, all to our curiosity lend

We also scan the headlines, try to determine just what they mean
Worry and wonder where in prophecy can THIS be seen?
But shouldn't we, just on Jesus' promises lean?

"Behold!! I am coming soon" was the SURE promise Jesus made
"Where I am, there you'll also be" was the message He relayed
"Your salvation is assured", "For sin's debt, MY blood paid"

So why try to figure out the future's small details
Become upset and confused if a favorite theory fails
Faith says- The words God forecast certainly will prevail

Please don't rely on the "Endtime" version Hollywood may present
It's sure to have a skeptical, liberal Bent
Instead, follow the TRUSTWORTHY servants God has sent

It's our human nature that wants to boast- "I Understand",
All these "latter day" mysteries God has planned
When WATCH-Be READY! was Jesus's unmistakable command

Now, if we are ready, shouldn't we READY others in addition
Tell them of the love of Jesus...rescue others from sin's condition
Instead of spending time trying to name "the son of perdition"

Or sorting out what is symbolic from what is literal in Rev's dramatic scenes
To whom or what the term Babylon really means
One writer has this theory...the next, a different direction leans

For we must not be decieved by false teaches, not accept everything one hears
Stick to Bible truths and not listen to fortunetelling seers
But Revelation's picture has become a LITTLE clearer over the years

Once seemed impossible, the whole world could see 2 witnesses lying in the street
Now, with the web and television, that doesn't seem such a gigantic feat
Modern technology will easily allow the anti-Christ...the whole world to greet

Years ago people wondered how one's flesh, eyes and tongue could just dissolve
While standing on their feet. But in out nuclear age, that puzzle is solved
A chilling and frightening picture...when God's enemies get involved

These will be terrible days, the bible warns...leaving a confusing haze
Love will grow cold, lawlessness abound, many singing satan's praise
But Jesus promised, for the elect's sake, the Father would shorten these days

All the events foretold are a certainty, not a scary terrifying fable
The Father, in His wisdom, just didn't include a time table
Promising, if we fully trust in HIM, our future will be oh so stable

So, BE AWAKE! BE AWARE! of what the signs show
But lets not follow every theory that fluently flow
Just confidently leave our days ahead in the Hands of the ONE who knows

Hey Judy,

just a note to tell you how much I appreciate your encouragement....I don't get too much of that from my family....so at least I have refuge with my 'online family'!

Still am not feeling 'great' yet. Hoping I'll be up for that 'chat' someday soon....or maybe at the cafe, but at least our 'worries' are over at that point, eh?

Love you

Hi Judy,

Thought it would be fun to post here on your blog. It was fun putting up those pics of me and my sister. We are two of five kids, three girls and two boys. I'm smack dab in the middle. I have a brother who is 2 years older, then Karin, she is eleven minutes older. :) Then me. Then another sister and then a brother to sandwich the other end. We are a very close family. They are all in the So Cal area, within three miles of each other. I'm all the way up in WA State. I'm planning a visit next month. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Much love,
Kathy

Hi Judy,

Thanks so much for your kind, sweet words regarding Gabe. He was just a wonderful, wonderful young man. The tears have fallen often during this past Memorial weekend. At church, I watched as Hannah shed tears while her brother-in-law played a beautiful medly of patriotic hymns on the piano. She has been very strong during this time. Of course she has her moments too. She knows that God is totally in control. She has a ministry coming along side other grieving widows. Some are not Christians. Our ladies Bible Study is praying for her that those widows will see the hope she has and be drawn to Christ through Hannah's testimony. I will be remembering you and your family in prayer.

Lovingly,
Kathy

Thanks Judy,

Notice in the last section of your mom's poem - BE AWAKE!

I think this country needs an awakening, don't you. HeHe

Things are coming together wonderfully. We've made big strides in the last couple of weeks. We have all the artists signed, with their contracts in hand. We are working hard at getting our sponsorship packages out this week and next in an effort to raise some financial support. We have come to an agreement with partnering up with a group called Children's Hopechest to promote their cause, which is helping out impoverished orphanages around the world, and showing them the love of Christ by teaming them up with churches and youth groups for financial, but more importantly spiritual and emotional support. The link to Children's Hopechest at awakeningfest.com is not working right now, we're trying to fix that. I am also working on the link "Can't make it to Awakening this year? Purchase a ticket for those in need." That should be there (thanks to your idea) in the next week or two. The new website and information is up now though, please help me spread that around. This year has the potential to be a breakout for us.

God is working hard through me, and the devil is working hard to fight it. We are trying to get our first email blast out this week, and monday night my son knocked my daughter over and she hit her head on a window sill. We had to spend 3.5 hours at the emergency room for her to get some stiches on the back of her head. She's perfectly fine but that was home at 1AM and both kids were up at 6AM. The next night I went to travel out of town up near NYC. I was driving up that night and an hour from my house my car breaks down. By the time I was towed, picked up, and brought back home it was 1AM again and up at 6 to send out some emails saying I was missing the meeting.

Through it all I simply laugh at the mishaps and praise God that I know him like I do. I can only imagine what it would be like to try and juggle the balls and not have the peace that passes all understanding. 5 hours of sleep, each of the last 3 nights... so what! I have the strength to move mountains. I can run and not grow weary. I can walk and not grow faint.

Thanks for your continued prayers.

In Him,
Mike

GOT TROUBLES? by Maxine M. We read of tragedies in the paper, see them on tv every day We're shocked and saddened, but soon just go on our way We may send a comforting message, really not knowing what to say But then!! As is inevitable, a crisis strikes us or our loved one In panic we ask "why"? Who can help? What can be done? Now there's no putting it out of mind, there's no place to run When YOU get the call in the middle of the night When YOUR doctor says "I'm sorry, this report shows something is not right" When YOUR job is lost, it was Your house that burned...what a fright Then trouble becomes personal, there's no room for apathy Our desire is..Of this pain, sorrow, grief... to be set free! Hope vs. Certainty by: Maxine M Hope: Webster defines as the feeling of what we want will happen, our desire we'll see Also as the person or thing from which this expectation will come to be Now each person's hope varies to an individual degree Certainty: fixed, settled, sure, positive....that which we can not doubt Thy Word, oh Lord, forever settled in Heaven!!, a certainty we can shout North is always north, truth is always true...not matter what else comes about Mary and Martha HOPED Jesus would come, so brother Lazarus wouldn't have to die Disappointed & let down...tears of sorrow they would cry But the CERTAINTY was, Jesus IS the Lord of Life, death's victory He could deny The disciples HOPED the Messiah would free them from Roman domination, in their day That Israel would be exaulted...all enemies made to pay The CERTAINTY was, He came to free us from sin, Salvation had just come their way David clung to HOPE, that God would relent...his child He would spare...
