Looking for TRUTH?
By: Maxine M.

What is truth?! Where can we find it in our world today?
Truth is the COMPLETE accuracy of a fact…the reality a circumstance may convey
The unerring CERTAINTY that a statement is free of falsehood in every way

Children expect all adults to speak truth but sadly that ISN’T true
Often, their own bias, prejudice & misunderstanding is what their words construe
Or, they outright DECEIVE to gain advantage or hide guilt from view

But the search for truth is an aspiration to which all man-kind is inclined
Because conflict and confusion can reign if there’s uncertainty in our mind
Confidence & trust in a deceptive person, misleading report, or one’s false motives can leave us completely blind

Perhaps we even hide truth from OURSELVES…push it down deep inside
Ignoring or denying our falses & failures…a counterfeit façade is tried
But truth has a way of coming to the surface causing an emotional divide

Now, there is one source of TOTAL TRUTH…on which, all of us may rely
It’s the divinely inspired Word of God!! To any problem, IT has the answer we can apply
The Holy Scriptures, which have eternally endured…AND, for It’s sake, many have willingly died

Sadly, today, this source of perfect truth is considered no longer reliable or has been regarded as out-dated
Often destined for a dusty book shelf or its accuracy is hotly debated
For in pride man says “I’ll do things my way”, but man’s wisdom is often inflated

Thus, God’s truth is ridiculed, scoffed at or just simply ignored
Oblivious to the fact that, within this book, all the wisdom of the ages is stored
History, prophecy, how to prepare for the future we’re all moving toward

Principles for a long, happy, prosperous life are contained within its pages
How people should relate to each other throughout life’s various stages
How eternal life may be obtained, the way to raise children or even spend our wages

There’s truth on every page, BUT the big lie Satan tries to tell
Is that it’s not ENTIRELY true and is open to private interpretation as well
A recent survey shows a great many church leaders DON’T believe in a LITERAL HELL

But Hell IS as real as Heaven…for it’s impossible for God to lie
And, He declared “No lie is of the truth” thus, His Word, to ALL generations, would apply
His promises of blessings, as well as warnings of punishment to those who defy

Its guaranteed promises, prophecy & principles are as CURRENT as in days of old
For truth NEVER changes…the wisdom of possessing truth, more precious than gold
It’s the “Rock Solid” pillar to which we can cling as life’s unpredictable moments unfold

So, now we know WHERE absolute, unaltered truth can be found
The place where confidence, optimism & hope abound
The assurance for HIS children that they will be “CAUGHT UP” at the trumpet’s sound

Because we need not fear tomorrow; let’s rejoice at good news & handle any bad news that may arise
Able to face our own MORTALITY knowing, it’s only the earthly body that dies
For one day we’ll live in an incorruptible body & understand the unanswered “whys”

So don’t be deceived!! Be aware how Satan often throws a half truth dart
They aren’t always obvious…he’s perfected deception to an art
But we’re safe & secure as long as we carry God’s truth in our heart

Mother's Day by: Maxine M. (this is cute) Our first parents lived in a paradise of ease Their original days were without toil, doing as they pleased Enjoying God's garden of bountiful, fruitful trees There was nothing to fear, as all the animals were tame As they came one by one for Adam to name The perfect marriage, there was no one else to blame The ideal life, but one thing they both never knew Was the loving touch of a Mother, as not from childhood they grew Of that special bond from child to Mother, they had no clue A Mother hadn't warned, "Don't talk to that snake" "He's not what he seems, he's a phony and a fake" "If you listen to him, it will bring sorrow and heartache" So Eve raised her children without Mother's advice Labor pains and discomfort were disobedience's price A Mother certainly would have made her think twice When the question "why do it this way?" came around She couldn't reply, "It...
WHAT DID JESUS SEE? by Maxine M. The world saw Peter as an unlearned fisherman, nothing special at all Simply mending his nets, hoping today would yield a big haul BUT what did Jesus see? He saw the one whom He'd call "The Rock" The one to found His Church, the leader of His flock The world saw Levi as a dreaded tax collector Lowest of the low, a traitor, considered a Roman defector BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Matthew with a loyal heart, faithful and true Knew he would be useful in the ministry he was to do The world saw the Pharisees as superior, righteous, ceremoniously clean Loving to stand in public, praying just to be seen BUT what did Jesus see? He saw them as hypocrites, fools, blind guides Saw them as well-polished tombs, but inside rottenness hides The world saw Saul as an enthusiastic, young Pharisee filled with zeal Persecuting new Christians, their newly found joy to steal BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Paul, a specially chosen vessel, a sinne...
Childlike Faith By: Maxine M. A short time ago, a long-time politician was laid to rest The last of the patriotic brothers…in America, their lives they’d invest People lined the streets expressing grief, paying tribute & honor with considerable zest A crowd gathered on the Capital’s steps engrossed in this somber affair But did you notice the small children quietly playing without a care? Just having fun, making faces at each other while parents were unaware Wiggling & anxious to be on with life…shed those “good” clothes that must stay clean Unconcerned what “Teddy’s” passing would bring to the political scene Confident & trusting their parents would keep life safe & serene For children are children in spite of color, nationality or religious creed Where prejudice hasn’t been formed, childlike acceptance will intercede They’re refreshingly innocent…not yet carrying our burden of ‘will I succeed’ T...
