Please!! Find A Way
By: Maxine M.

Jesus commanded, “Go into ALL the world, spread the gospel’s Good News”
That was a “TALL order”…the Apostles had to choose
Of how really BIG this task would be, He had given only subtle clues

They had walked with Him all across Israel’s diverse land…STRICTLY teaching Jews
Now He was sending them BEYOND those boarders…would they refuse?
OR travel as new missionaries, starting Christian churches…bring converts into the pews

Turning their back on the old established Jewish order they had known
In these fore-fathers of the church, what a tremendous leap of Faith was shown
Through perils and hardships they ENDURED, to spread the Word…Salvation is in Christ alone

The world as they knew it was relatively small…vast areas still unexplored
Rome ruled the “known” CIVILIZED world, not realizing there was so much more
Soon the whole world would be changing…TIME and PROGRESS opened a new exciting door

TODAY, is there any place left on earth where we haven’t explored?
But the question is how well has man spread the Word of His risen Lord?
Have we been distracted from our goal…fame and fortune now the desired reward?

Now, Jesus knew His command was “DO-ABLE”, in spite of the world’s tremendous size
So much bigger than those original Apostles could ever surmise
Would they have comprehended the number of people who would claim Jesus as their ultimate prize?

But Jesus knew all about the modern day TECHNOLOGY & how it would help spread the Word
Knew how, by the sweet old Gospel Story, hearts could be stirred
How dramatically lives can be changed once it’s heard

How, from generation to generation, the message had to stay PURE
Not added to or anything subtracted from…TOTAL, ABSOLUTE TRUTH had to endure
The message of how God’s own Son’s death would, for man’s sin, be a cure

Because in this ever changing world, Jesus’ command is still relevant today
It’s the only hope to abolish this world’s lawlessness & decay
To bring about the love & peace for which we all earnestly pray

Broken hearts, broken lives, social ills…only the Gospel’s healing power can mend
PLEASE!! FIND A WAY to tell that neighbor, co-worker, loved one or friend
Tracts, literature, passing on e-mails…all Christ’s message can send

Since we’re not restricted to walking dusty roads, as the Apostles in their day
And our world is still changing…now even to those most remote places, the message we can convey
So let’s LIGHT up ALL those dark obscure corners with Salvation’s SAVING ray

For only His perfect Holy Sacrifice on the cross could defeat Satan’s evil scheme
Send our fear of death SCURRING…let Eternal life reign Supreme
This is the “Good News”…our Lord wants ALL THE WORLD to GLEAM

Mother's Day by: Maxine M. (this is cute) Our first parents lived in a paradise of ease Their original days were without toil, doing as they pleased Enjoying God's garden of bountiful, fruitful trees There was nothing to fear, as all the animals were tame As they came one by one for Adam to name The perfect marriage, there was no one else to blame The ideal life, but one thing they both never knew Was the loving touch of a Mother, as not from childhood they grew Of that special bond from child to Mother, they had no clue A Mother hadn't warned, "Don't talk to that snake" "He's not what he seems, he's a phony and a fake" "If you listen to him, it will bring sorrow and heartache" So Eve raised her children without Mother's advice Labor pains and discomfort were disobedience's price A Mother certainly would have made her think twice When the question "why do it this way?" came around She couldn't reply, "It...
WHAT DID JESUS SEE? by Maxine M. The world saw Peter as an unlearned fisherman, nothing special at all Simply mending his nets, hoping today would yield a big haul BUT what did Jesus see? He saw the one whom He'd call "The Rock" The one to found His Church, the leader of His flock The world saw Levi as a dreaded tax collector Lowest of the low, a traitor, considered a Roman defector BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Matthew with a loyal heart, faithful and true Knew he would be useful in the ministry he was to do The world saw the Pharisees as superior, righteous, ceremoniously clean Loving to stand in public, praying just to be seen BUT what did Jesus see? He saw them as hypocrites, fools, blind guides Saw them as well-polished tombs, but inside rottenness hides The world saw Saul as an enthusiastic, young Pharisee filled with zeal Persecuting new Christians, their newly found joy to steal BUT what did Jesus see? He saw him as Paul, a specially chosen vessel, a sinne...
Childlike Faith By: Maxine M. A short time ago, a long-time politician was laid to rest The last of the patriotic brothers…in America, their lives they’d invest People lined the streets expressing grief, paying tribute & honor with considerable zest A crowd gathered on the Capital’s steps engrossed in this somber affair But did you notice the small children quietly playing without a care? Just having fun, making faces at each other while parents were unaware Wiggling & anxious to be on with life…shed those “good” clothes that must stay clean Unconcerned what “Teddy’s” passing would bring to the political scene Confident & trusting their parents would keep life safe & serene For children are children in spite of color, nationality or religious creed Where prejudice hasn’t been formed, childlike acceptance will intercede They’re refreshingly innocent…not yet carrying our burden of ‘will I succeed’ T...
